BOARD OF DIRECTORS VISION

The Prince William County Service Authority is the premier institution in the Washington Metropolitan Area for purveying safe and reliable drinking water and environmentally sound water reclamation. We are an important reason that people choose to locate homes and businesses in Prince William County. The Service Authority has emerged as a leader in the industry by incorporating the use of best management practices. Our strategies have aligned the efforts of the entire organization to deliver the highest quality product at the best value to our customers. Our focus areas for excellence include:

CUSTOMER-DRIVEN ORGANIZATION

We are a customer friendly organization providing a reliable and environmentally sound product through the use of best business practices. Our focus is on the delivery of cost-effective service to all our customers.  We maintain a Web-based e-commerce site allowing our customers maximum flexibility for bill paying, service information, and product quality.  In anticipation of our customers’ desire for additional information, our web page also includes water quality reports, policies related to water and water reclamation services, and the ability to contact departments for assistance.


OPEN & APPROACHABLE ORGANIZATION

The Service Authority is a recognized expert providing high-quality reliable drinking water. We are a steward of the environment through our wastewater collection and water reclamation systems. We reach out to the community to educate citizens through our speaker's bureau, programs for local youth, including our science fair participation, art poster contest and other related activities. We provide advanced multi-media notification to our customers during emergencies, planned service interruptions and seasonal maintenance efforts.

The Service Authority maintains rates, fees and charges that are equitable, while providing adequate revenues to meet requirements in a changing growth and regulatory environment.  To meet the Authority’s obligations, the development of strategic plans for capital improvements, debt financing, capacity purchases, and infrastructure replacement are both responsive and adaptive within a changing political, regulatory, and economic climate. The Authority, as a public utility, is committed to a cost of service structure that is independently accountable, fair, and consistent with the high level of service provided.

The Service Authority recognizes the stakeholders within Prince William County and the Washington Metropolitan Region and partners with them in a cooperative and professional manner.  The Authority, as the primary agency responsible for the provision of regulated water and sewer service, is dedicated to providing the necessary infrastructure consistent with the County’s Comprehensive Plan. The Service Authority recognizes the importance of regional cooperation in providing efficient and effective services and is committed to participating in regional councils and working groups.
